Bild list The 100 best German Bundesliga players of all time
German newspaper Bild have undertaken a huge task going into the final day of 2015 – they have listed the 100 best German Bundesliga players of all time.
As Germany’s leading newspaper and a fine source for news coming out the Bundesliga, Bild are well placed to compile such a list.
And, with the Bundesliga only in existence since 1963, it probably wasn’t quite as difficult as it could have been.
Whilst the top 100 German Bundesliga players of all time Bild list is behind a paywall online, it has already emerged in full on Twitter.

Borussia Dortmund’s exciting attacker Marco Reus make it in at 96, whilst late on there is also space for Mario Gomez and Torsten Frings. Hans Tilkowski, who played against England in the 1966 World Cup final is also a late entrant.
Stefan Kuntz, a member of the Euro 96 winning German side makes an appearance at 81 and Arsenal pair Mesut Ozil and Per Mertesacker come in at 76 and 78 respectively.
Andreas Moller and Lukas Podolski appear in the mid-50s.
From 30-50 are loads of famous faces, including Mario Basler, Toni Kroos, Karl-Heinz Riedle, Toni Schumacher, Jurgen Klinsmann and Mathias Sammer.
Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger is considered the 21st best German Bundesliga player of all time. And, current Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng is at 17.
The final 15 includes current Bayern Munich stars Phillip Lahm and Manuel Neuer.
Miroslav Klose comes in at 10 and Thomas Muller’s placing of 7 is hugely impressive considering he is just 26.
And, Franz Beckenbauer at 2 and Gerd Muller at 1 is more or less what you would expect.
Final point: How fascinating would this list be with foreign players?! Where would Robert Lewandowski, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery come in?
