The long-serving Arsenal manager has had his critics within the club's fanbase for a couple of years now, but they were placated after a three-month unbeaten run following an opening day of the season defeat put them on course to challenge for all major honours.
Then it all went belly-up.
An embarrassing 10-2 aggregate defeat to Bayern Munich saw them crash out of the Champions League last 16 yet again, while their Premier League form fell off a cliff which ultimately cost them a spot in the top four , let alone a proper run at the title itself.

There's been some lows this season

As a result, he's faced increasingly loud calls to leave the club when his contract expires this summer. There's been Wenger Out protests on land and air , and the topic of his future at the club has essentially become an internet meme.
But despite his - and Arsenal's - struggles this season, they managed to end it on a high note - with victory in the FA Cup final over Chelsea.
It's the seventh time Wenger has won the competition, more than any other manager.

The result was a lot of VERY happy photos in the post-game celebrations - ones that are sure to put a smile on your face, whoever you support.

“Goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey, either side of a Diego Costa strike, secured the trophy for Arsenal”
The Gunners were desperate for a victory over their London rivals following a previously disappointing season in which they missed out on the top four and were hammered 10-2 on aggregate by Bayern Munich in the Champions League.
But Arsene Wenger’s team saved the best for last and beat the champions thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey, either side of a Diego Costa strike.
After the match, the delight was evident on the manager’s face and his players lapped up the adulation on the Wembley pitch.
